Lechat's Undercover Ultra Bond Basecoat - The Skinny

As a beauty blogger, I have quite the collection of make up and accessories, actually an absurd amount of eye liners, shadows, blush, lipstick, gloss and possibly even more nail polishes. I paint my nails daily and I really do find it relaxing and de-stressifying (is that even a word?) So I am confidently going to say that I am an expert when it comes to brands of polish. As any expert esthetician or manicurist will tell you, a base coat is imperative to a professional looking manicure. It extends the life of your polish and helps bond the polish to your nail. Chipping can be a problem as well, so a good top coat and base coat is the way to go. I cannot advise on the length of time a manicure lasts using this product as I change my polish every day. Once in a blue moon I may go two days before picking my polish off or removing it the normal way to try another shade! I have 5 base coats right now, China Glaze, OPI, Barielle, Nubar and Seche Vite. The newest edition to my base coat family is Undercover Ultra Bond Base Coat by Lechat.

I find that all of my base coats are very similar in texture. The closest one to Lechat I would say is the consistency of the OPI. The unique consistency of the Lechat product is extremely thin, which I really like. It almost feels like it is slightly rough even though it isn't (if that makes any sense!) It feels like it has tiny little fibres that aid in the adhering of the product. I am trying to say that it feels like it has very good adhesion qualities rather than being just a dull coat of polish. I find this product very good. It has now become my base coat of choice. Lechat has no formaldehyde and no toluene which is a benzene derivative and can be used as a solvent. I cannot stress enough how everything we ingest, put on our face by way of creams and make up and yes, even nail polish seeps into our bodies. Even the fumes from hair spray or nail polish can be hazardous to our health! So less is more when it comes to polish and the less unpronounceable words in the ingredients list the better!
Lechat also has a top coat and many products for nail art and design. If you check out their website, the vibe is more geared to professionals and less effort towards pleasing the average consumer, a no nonsense website! I give this product a 9/10, GlamGal's seal of approval! The best part about this product is the price! I paid $3.49 for the bottle.

This manicure is from Lechat's website. You can also find detailed instructions on this mani and many more on their site! This is art!

    1. Thanks! I see we have much in common from viewing your sites. I find there is never enough time to get it all done in a day, sadly the only exercise I get is climbing the stairs with a laundry bin! Oh and cleaning up after my kids!!
