Glossy Box Holiday Party - GlamGal Review

I could barely contain my excitement last week. After viewing the fun and frolic from the GlossyBox party in Montreal last summer on Facebook,  I was beside myself with joy at the invite I received for the Holiday Party here in the big city of Toronto!

Adding to my growing anticipation, I saw the swag bags sprawled across a room from the ceiling to floor on Twitter in preparation for the event and well, I was just too excited to contain my enthusiasm all day long!

Pink champagne, candy, friendly faces smiling and more candy made the event a wonderful experience. Many of my favorite companies were offering their products to sample and the Marc Anthony Salon staff were also on hand to make you feel special. I had a chance to visit a few new products and learn about them as well. The best part for me was standing in the life size GlossyBox! I felt like a barbie doll! One thing I have to say about GlossyBox, they are very generous in the goodie bag department, not only did the gift bags weigh about 10 pounds, but a holiday edition GlossyBox was also given to each and everyone as they left the party.
Full of licorice and chocolate kisses, I dragged my swag bag and bloated belly home to see all the wonderful surprises awaiting my eyes!

The Candy Bar.....need I say more!!

GlamGlow was there discussing the benefits of their very popular mud mask. A full size mask was in the swag bag. I feel so Beverley Hills already! This is the youth mud made with volcanic rock, french sea clay and green tea pieces

Marc Anthony staff waiting to offer some styling with the latest hair trends at the Braid and Bun Bar. I must also note that a gift certificate for 50% discount on a cut/colour/blow out was in the swag bag, this I am going to take advantage of.
This is the lovely Regina from Beauty So Clean. She was very informative on the reasons behind clean, bacteria free beauty products (loved your accent!!). Just in time for the holidays, Gingerbread and Candy Cane scented conditioning brush cleaners as seen here. You can put these on your brushes and spray on your make up itself, within seconds the bacteria is gone!

No comment, just trying to have some fun in the photo booth :)

GlamGal feeling like a GLOSSY celebrity.....

I have to say that I was impressed with this product line. Made in the U.S. by Dermatologists, aimed at offering top of the line in skin care regimes. The two ladies representing this line are both mother's of four children each who were so dedicated to healthy skin, they created their own company. Now they are the exclusive distributor to Skin for Life in Canada. They have a "CC" Color Corrective Cream that I was able to try.

Ahhh....before the plunge into beauty heaven
This is what weighed ten pounds
The first to witness the newest colours from Nicole by OPI, gotta love the hot pink
The Photo booth where I made a complete fool of myself, it was the sugar high from the Candy Bar!
There were so many great products available for the trying, Juviance, Beauty So Clean, NYX, OPI, Macadamia, MaskerAide, Elin Bianco and Vitabath. Vitabath had two salon sinks full of their new hand creams and body lotions for the sampling. I know I am missing many great brands that were on hand, I am mentioning the ones that I personally visited and tried.

If this wasn't enough excitement for GlamGal, I was contacted a few days later by GlossyBox, I had won one of the prizes from the raffle giveaway, a Juviance gift box. What a thrill to have a chance to try their products. Can't wait! I spoke with the reps there all about the product lines as well as skin and aging. I am a a student of esthetics and they had a wealth of knowledge, we ended up having quite a pow wow.

My favorite luxury product at the event had to be from Elin Bianco, the hair mask. It is complete and utter elegance. Pink, potent and silky. This mask makes my hair the softest and healthiest it has been in a long time. The scent is classic and very unique.

So now I am thinking about what to do with the extra Holiday Glossy Box I received.......perhaps a giveaway is order!

Thank you Glossy, it was a wonderful evening!

GlamGal Top Picks For The Holidays

Between all the beauty box memberships I have (4) and the daily visits to my local shopping centre, I certainly don't lack in make up and skin care products. Being an aesthetic student also has it's perks, I get to sample new skin care lines and spa treatments all in the name of learning! Here is my Hot List for the prettiest holiday season, products I am loving.....

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant:  This rice based enzymatic exfoliant works wonders at freshening my skin. It eats away at dead skin cells leaving a wonderful glow to my face. Since the enzymes are activated when exposed to water, all I do is lather the powder in my hand with some warm water and apply to my face. As it dries, I apply my wet hand to reactivate it and keep it on as long as I can. In the spa, this stuff can be kept on for over ten minutes while a steamer is applied. No need to scrub or rub the face with this stuff! It does all the work for you!
Dr. Schrammek Herbal Care Lotion: A gentle tonic made with herbal extracts, this liquid is splashed on my face day and night as a toner. I love this stuff because it is packed with vitamins and nutrients and my skin feels so fresh and alive. A great pick me up in the afternoon as well. I carry a small spray bottle with this in my purse. During the day I give a squirt to hydrate and wake my stressed face!

Benefit High Beam Luminescent Complexion Enhancer:  I picked up an adorable kit at Sephora in Miami Beach this summer, this was in it. I can't go a day without this stuff. I apply a stroke to my cheek bones, forehead above each eye brow and my cupid's arrow, blend with my fingers and voila! A radiant glow! What a difference a little highlighting makes, it's astonishing!

Burts Bees Lip Shimmer: I use strawberry, all natural with a minty taste. This lasts and moisturizes my lips when the heat is on at the office and my dry skin screams for some moisture, especuially my lips.

Essie Nail Polish: "Not Just a Pretty Face" This shade goes with everything and is flattering for a Fall nail, neutral enough to wear with any color make up and cozy sweater yet dark enough that it's trending alonside the dark eggplants and browns showing up this season. A must have!

Smashbox "Girls on Film" Lip Enhancing Gloss: I am loving the shade Overexposed, it's neutral peach for a sexy pout!

Borghese Hydro Mineral Creme Finish Make Up - No. 1: Moving away from beauty balm's for now, I need a little more coverage with cooler air forcing its way in! Although I usually use Cover Girl, I am loving this brand right now. It's thick enough but not as thick as my usual brand, giving just enough coverage without looking over the top or fake. I love their nail varnish so I knew I would enjoy this product. Only thing is I can't stand the bottle upright!

Have a happy, happy holiday :)
